happy Halloween to everyone. hope you all had a blast and fabulous celebration.
just a bit of an announcement, i just watched the first episode of Lan Litmitless show (found here) and i think its just amazing. i also followed her blog for a while. its truly an inspiration. as a result, i decided to start this blog of mine :) so, i hereby declare, this date of 31/10/09 shall be the start of my blog :)
a bit of background information, i write a lot. but i hardly ever share my writings publicly. i think its just a habit to keep my inner me to myself :) so this open-to-public blog thing is rather new to me. i shall start with some interesting findings i wanna share, some ideas i support or criticize, some inspiring messages i wanna spread.
hey all, thanks for dropping by and supporting my blog. hope you have a pleasant time.
so, in my first post, i'd like to share with you guys a short story that goes like this.
Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost… I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost… I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter 2
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
Chapter 5
I walk down another street.
This poem is taken from Portia Nelson’s “There’s A Hole In My Sidewalk“ – a wonderful collection of insights into love and life.
the sad fact is, failure cannot be avoided. but you can of course limit the repetition of the same mistake. the sadder fact is, even if you put in your best and meticulously take measures to avoid failure, it can still happen. in any case, failure should not be a morale crusher. instead, failure should act as a strong motivator and a guiding force. dealing with failure involves lots of self-reflection. its easy to push the blame to your parents, your teachers, your partner, your background, your lack of experience, your lack of money, your blah blah blah. it just takes a great deal of courage to take responsibility of your own failure,
and a strong determination to remain positive and stay committed to your cause. most importantly, it takes all your heart and mind to bounce back. good news is, surviving setbacks is an integral component of growth and breakthroughs depend on it.

'our greatest glory is not in never failing, but rising up everytime we fail'. take responsibility, stay motivated, embrace your failure, learn from it and do not repeat the mistake over and over again. we all know this fact. let us just have a little more faith in the mantra.
to end off, i wish you all to fail. and to learn, and grow.

"our greatest glory is not in never failing, but rising up everytime we fail"
I wish you to have all the courage, dare to fail even more (and of course, to grow a lot more)
from Christopher Morley: "Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity."
